JERKCURB DEVIL'S CATFLAP

Jerkcurb (aka Jacob Reed), the South London based multi-talented, screen-printing maverick, has dropped another single from his forthcoming album Air Con Eden. 'Devil's Catflap' begins as a gentle lullaby with repetitive bell-like percussion, a heavy-eyed humming bass and a guitar part that wanders off into a dreamscape. Vocals are softly sung and married gracefully to the female backing voices. A growing synth pad escalates into the second part of the song, whereby the female and male vocals bend and rise and the full drum kit kicks in. The guitar is plucked with serene fingers as Jacob sings "There's a fire in my soul, doesn't that matter, I'm right here, I'm right here, and if the devil can win then what does it mean to be alive, I want you to know that I should have been there, I waited forever". 'Devil's Catflap' is a stunning song with an air of regret, but also a fascination into what it means to be alive. -Ellie Rose Davies
